Consultation Terms
Last updated: September 2026
Contents▾
These Consultation Terms apply to skincare consultation services provided by The SkinWish.
The SkinWish is operated by Tetiana Tonkonoh, a sole trader trading as The SkinWish.
These Consultation Terms should be read together with our Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy.
1. Our Consultation Services
The SkinWish currently offers two types of skincare consultation:
- a Free 15-Minute Skincare Consultation; and
- a Personalised Skincare Consultation — £50.
All The SkinWish consultations provide cosmetic skincare and product-selection guidance. They are not medical or dermatological consultations and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any medical condition or skin disorder.
2. Free 15-Minute Skincare Consultation
The Free 15-Minute Skincare Consultation is a short consultation designed to help you understand and choose products available through The SkinWish.
You may ask about specific products or discuss what type of product from The SkinWish range may be suitable for your skincare needs.
During the consultation, we may explain:
- differences between relevant The SkinWish products;
- their key active ingredients and intended purpose;
- how a product may fit into your existing routine;
- how products should be used; and
- relevant product combinations.
The consultation lasts for up to 15 minutes and may take place by video call, voice call or live messaging, depending on the communication options made available by The SkinWish at the time of booking.
Because this is a short product-selection service, it does not include a full assessment of your skin type and current skin condition, a complete review of your existing skincare routine or a written personalised skincare plan.
Recommendations made during the Free 15-Minute Skincare Consultation are selected from products and brands available through The SkinWish.
3. Personalised Skincare Consultation
The Personalised Skincare Consultation is a more detailed service designed to help you understand your skin and build an appropriate home skincare routine.
The consultation costs £50, with full payment required at the time of booking.
The consultation itself lasts for up to 60 minutes.
The consultation will normally take place by video or voice call using one of the communication methods made available by The SkinWish at the time of booking.
4. Before Your Personalised Skincare Consultation
You will be asked to provide relevant information before your appointment so that we can review your skincare needs and prepare for your consultation.
This may include:
- your main skincare concerns and goals;
- your current skincare routine;
- products you currently use;
- previous reactions to skincare products;
- known sensitivities or allergies; and
- other information reasonably relevant to providing appropriate cosmetic skincare advice.
You will also be required to provide clear and recent photographs of your skin without make-up and in suitable lighting.
We may ask you to provide photographs or accurate names of the skincare products you currently use.
The SkinWish may begin reviewing the information, photographs and products you provide before your scheduled consultation.
If the information or photographs reasonably required for the consultation are not provided in sufficient time, we may need to rearrange the appointment.
Personal information, photographs and any health-related information you provide will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
5. During Your Personalised Skincare Consultation
During the consultation, we will discuss your skin, skincare concerns and goals, current routine and the relevant information you have provided.
Depending on your individual needs, the consultation may include:
- assessment and explanation of your skin type;
- assessment and explanation of your skin's current condition;
- review of your existing skincare routine and products;
- identification of areas where your routine may be simplified, adjusted or improved;
- guidance on suitable types of skincare products;
- guidance on key active ingredients relevant to your skincare needs;
- explanation of the purpose of relevant active ingredients;
- guidance on how and when appropriate products or active ingredients may be introduced and used;
- guidance on how relevant products may be combined within your routine;
- development of a personalised morning and evening skincare routine; and
- specific product recommendations from The SkinWish range.
The assessment is a cosmetic skincare assessment based on the information and photographs you provide and what can reasonably be assessed within the scope of the consultation. It is not a medical or dermatological diagnosis.
6. Product Recommendations and Your Freedom to Choose
Specific products recommended by The SkinWish as part of a consultation will normally be selected from the products and brands available through The SkinWish store.
However, the Personalised Skincare Consultation is not simply a list of products to purchase.
Where appropriate, we will explain the key active ingredients, types of products and product criteria relevant to your skincare needs and their purpose within your routine.
You can use this information to help identify suitable products from other brands or retailers, including products that are not available through The SkinWish.
You are under no obligation to purchase recommended products from The SkinWish.
Product ranges and availability may change, and a recommendation does not guarantee that a particular product will remain available.
7. Your Written Personalised Skincare Plan
Following your consultation, you will receive a written personalised skincare plan.
We aim to provide your plan within 3–4 working days after your consultation.
Depending on your individual skincare needs, the plan may include:
- your assessed skin type and current skin condition;
- your main skincare priorities;
- recommendations relating to your existing routine;
- a personalised morning and evening routine;
- key active ingredients relevant to your skincare needs;
- guidance on introducing and using appropriate active ingredients;
- product types and criteria to consider; and
- specific The SkinWish product recommendations.
The plan is based on the information available at the time of your consultation.
Changes to your skin, skincare routine, sensitivities, medication, medical treatment or other relevant circumstances may mean that previous recommendations are no longer appropriate.
8. Follow-Up Support
Your Personalised Skincare Consultation includes 14 days of follow-up support after your written skincare plan is provided.
During this period, you may contact The SkinWish using the communication method provided for follow-up support and ask reasonable questions relating to the recommendations contained in your plan.
Follow-up support is intended to clarify your existing consultation and recommendations. It does not include a new skin assessment, a new consultation or preparation of a substantially different skincare plan.
If your circumstances or skincare needs change significantly, a new consultation may be recommended.
9. 20% The SkinWish Product Offer
After completing a paid Personalised Skincare Consultation, you will receive 20% off one The SkinWish skincare order.
The offer must be used within 30 days of your consultation.
The discount:
- may be used once;
- applies to eligible skincare products available through The SkinWish;
- cannot be exchanged for cash;
- cannot be transferred to another person; and
- cannot be combined with another discount code or promotional offer unless The SkinWish expressly states otherwise.
Purchasing products from The SkinWish is entirely optional and is not a condition of receiving your consultation or personalised skincare plan.
Products purchased following a consultation remain subject to The SkinWish Terms & Conditions and Returns & Refunds Policy.
10. Medical and Health Matters
The SkinWish consultations provide cosmetic skincare guidance only.
The SkinWish does not provide medical advice, diagnose skin diseases or other medical conditions, prescribe medication or provide medical treatment.
If you have a diagnosed skin condition, are receiving medical treatment, have experienced a significant allergic or adverse reaction, or have a persistent or concerning skin problem, you should seek advice from an appropriate healthcare professional.
Where an enquiry appears to require medical or dermatological assessment rather than cosmetic skincare advice, The SkinWish may decline to provide a product recommendation or may recommend that you seek appropriate professional advice first.
11. Individual Results and Product Suitability
Everyone's skin is different and individual responses to skincare products and active ingredients may vary.
A consultation or product recommendation cannot guarantee a particular result or guarantee that a product will be suitable in every case.
You should always read the current product packaging, ingredient list, directions, warnings and manufacturer instructions before using a product and follow any recommended patch-testing or other precautions.
12. Customers Under 18
Personalised skincare consultation services are intended for customers aged 18 or over.
Where skincare advice is requested for a person under 18, the request should be made by their parent or legal guardian.
The SkinWish may decline to provide personalised advice directly to a person under 18.
13. Payment and Booking
Full payment of £50 is required when booking a Personalised Skincare Consultation.
Your booking is subject to appointment availability and is confirmed once payment has been successfully completed and you have received confirmation from The SkinWish.
You are responsible for providing accurate contact details and for being available through the agreed communication method at the scheduled appointment time.
14. Rescheduling
We understand that plans can change.
A Personalised Skincare Consultation may be rescheduled once, provided that The SkinWish receives at least 48 hours' notice before the scheduled appointment.
A second rescheduling is not normally available.
Where less than 48 hours' notice is provided, the appointment will be treated as a late cancellation unless The SkinWish agrees otherwise.
If you do not provide the information or photographs reasonably required for your consultation in sufficient time, The SkinWish may need to rearrange the appointment. This may count as your permitted rescheduling where the delay is caused by the required information not being provided.
15. Late Cancellation and Non-Attendance
Please remember that work on your Personalised Skincare Consultation may begin before the scheduled appointment.
This may include reviewing your questionnaire, photographs, existing skincare routine and products and preparing for the consultation.
If you cancel with less than 48 hours' notice or fail to attend your scheduled appointment, you will not normally be entitled to another appointment under the same booking.
The SkinWish may retain part or, where reasonably justified, all of the consultation fee to reflect work already undertaken and losses directly resulting from the late cancellation or non-attendance.
Any amount retained will be reasonable and proportionate to the work already carried out and the loss directly resulting from the cancellation or non-attendance.
This does not affect any statutory cancellation or refund rights you may have.
16. Statutory Cancellation Rights for Online Bookings
Where you purchase a paid consultation online, you will normally have a statutory right to cancel your service contract within 14 days of entering into the contract.
If you want The SkinWish to begin providing the consultation service during this cancellation period — including beginning preparation before your scheduled appointment — you may be asked to expressly request that the service begins before the cancellation period has ended.
If you cancel after the service has begun at your express request, you may be required to pay a reasonable proportion of the price for the service already provided, where permitted by law.
Where the service has been fully performed during the cancellation period following the necessary request and acknowledgement from you, your statutory right to cancel may end once the service has been fully performed.
Nothing in these Consultation Terms limits or excludes your statutory consumer rights.
17. If The SkinWish Needs to Cancel
If The SkinWish needs to cancel your consultation, we will offer you an alternative appointment.
If a suitable alternative cannot be agreed, you will be entitled to an appropriate refund for any part of the paid service that has not been provided.
18. Your Responsibilities
To enable The SkinWish to provide appropriate personalised skincare guidance, you should provide information that is accurate and complete to the best of your knowledge.
Please tell us about relevant sensitivities, allergies, previous reactions and other information reasonably relevant to the skincare advice you are requesting.
If relevant circumstances change after your consultation, you should not assume that previous recommendations remain appropriate.
19. Privacy
Information provided in connection with a consultation will be handled in accordance with The SkinWish Privacy Policy.
This may include photographs and, where relevant, information relating to your skin, sensitivities, allergies, previous reactions or other health-related information that you choose to provide.
Please refer to our Privacy Policy for further information about how The SkinWish collects, uses, stores and protects personal information.
20. Reasonable Care and Skill
The SkinWish will provide consultation services with reasonable care and skill.
Nothing in these Consultation Terms excludes or limits any liability or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
21. Relationship With Other The SkinWish Terms
These Consultation Terms apply specifically to The SkinWish consultation services.
The SkinWish Terms & Conditions continue to apply to use of the website and purchases of products.
The Privacy Policy applies to the handling of personal information, including consultation information and photographs.
The Returns & Refunds Policy applies to products purchased from The SkinWish.
If there is any conflict between these Consultation Terms and your statutory consumer rights, your statutory rights will apply.
